The Google Android development team announced that development of Android 2.0, codenamed Eclair, is far in development than first thought. In fact it will be released in November making its debut on Motorola’s Droid handset. Apologies for the downtime!

Something went rather wrong not long ago to iLuvAndroid where the bandwidth limit was breeched and thus the site was down for a good number of days. Firefox browser coming to Google Android

With Opera Mini making strides in the Mobile Browser Market, people have been asking why there hasn’t been a Mozilla FireFox version available just yet for the dynamic Android platform. New European GPS system “EGNOS” goes active

Quite some time ago, the European Union decided that they wanted a more accurate GPS system and one that didn’t rely on US only satellites. After much discussion the Galileo project was born which would consist of European satellites orbiting the world and providing a much more accurate form of GPS of within a few feet. Samsung Behold II joins forces with Android

The Samsung Behold II has changed for its second iteration by now joining the Android ranks. In the USA, the Behold II will be available on T-Mobile and features a 3.2″ AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording capabilities, LED Flash, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a microSD slot with support of up to 16GB. Fresh from updating to the latest Cyanogen Experimental 4.1.10 build there was a little surprise awaiting for us all… The brand new Android Market! Much has been made about the build codenamed as “Donut“. Many thought it would be Android v.2.0 however it has been established that it is officially Android v.1.6. An incremental yet impressive update much how “Cupcake” was before it, adding more features such as global search and performance optimisations throughout. To those who have kept up to date with the latest developments of Android in the community would have already reaped the benefits of BFS being added as it improves the speed of Android immensely. The first known developer to roll out such technology into Android was the famed Cyanogen from the XDA forums. HTC has announced that an official firmware release for their HTC Hero device is now available to download! Archos, known for their personal music players have released a small teaser about a new line of hardware using the versatile Android platform. The above screenshot illustrates what there is to expect with a massive 4.3-inch touchscreen and an impressive 854 x 480 pixel resolution.
